I arrived in Arunachal Pradesh in 1993 to support my family financially and worked as a woodcutter. In 1995, I heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ and was baptized on February 14, 1996, at the West Bengal-Sikkim border (Rashikala). I returned to Arunachal Pradesh, resuming my work as a woodcutter. However, by the end of 1996, the government completely banned woodcutting, leaving laborers without an income source.
In response, I began sharing the Gospel with everyone and started a fellowship among believers in my bamboo house. During this time, local authorities threatened me, ordering me to leave the area and Arunachal Pradesh. But God answered my prayers, giving me the strength to stand firm. A local owner and army friends supported me, enabling me to continue my ministry.
On August 1, 2000, in the middle of the night, my house was burnt to ashes. By God’s grace, I woke up and escaped with my guitar and a bag. This incident strengthened my resolve to spread the Gospel. Although I struggled to provide for my family, my wife understood my calling and took care of our two small children, supporting me in my ministry.
As a result of sharing the Gospel with Nepali believers, some Arunachali tribal people (Bugun-Khowa) also came to believe and gave their lives to Christ. God opened doors through them, allowing us to start sharing the Gospel among tribal people also. One tribal member, Ashok Marphew, generously offered a piece of land to build a church. I also started churches in different areas, such as Rupa and Bichom (Bugun tribe villages).
During my ministry, financial support was scarce. I attempted to work in various fields but faced challenges. However, I am grateful to my daughter, Anna, who helped me overcome those difficulties. To this day, I continue to care for the ministry alongside my family.
